Veritas Bible ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Veritas Digital Technologies Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Veritas Bible application and related services (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

We collect different types of information depending on how you use the Service:

Account Information

When you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address, name, and profile information. You may sign in using Apple or Google, in which case we receive basic profile information from those services.

User-Generated Content

We store content you create within the app, including highlights, notes, saved verses, reading history, reading streaks, and AI study assistant chat sessions. This data is stored in our cloud database (powered by Convex) to sync your experience across devices.

Usage Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage data, including device information, feature interaction metrics, and general usage patterns. This data helps us understand how the app is used and improve the experience.

Error and Crash Data

We use Sentry to collect device information, operating system version, and error or crash logs. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs and improve app stability.

AI Study Assistant Data

When you use the AI study assistant, your questions and the relevant Bible passage context are sent to OpenAI's API to generate study responses. Your conversation history is stored in our database so you can revisit past conversations.

Bible Content

Bible text and audio are fetched from third-party Bible APIs (API.Bible and Bible Brain). No personal data is sent to these services.

• Provide and personalize the Service, including syncing your data across devices
• Power the AI study assistant with relevant context from your questions and Scripture passages
• Analyze anonymized usage patterns to improve features and user experience
• Monitor and fix errors, crashes, and performance issues
• Communicate with you about your account or the Service

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We do not use your data for advertising or ad tracking.

We share data only with the third-party service providers listed above (Clerk, Convex, PostHog, Sentry, and OpenAI), and only to the extent necessary to operate the Service. Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

Your data is stored and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and storage of your information in the United States.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at jonathan@veroveritas.app. Upon receiving a deletion request, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
